We took Ariana and Evan to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX with our good friends The Amy's. Tye Hill had a fun-filled weekend of traveling around town and spending the night with Bebe and GanGan! After hitting Friday afternoon Dallas rush hour and missing the exit (the map was wrong, I promise you!), we finally arrived. We met up with the Amy's, had a quick bite to eat and hit the Waterpark inside the Lodge until it closed at 10pm. It was great fun to see the kids splash, swim and play and even brave some of the slides! The slides were fun (The Howling Tornado is a must, though one did make me rather dizzy because I was faced backwards the entire ride). We all retired to our suites and then hit the park when it opened at 9am for a few hours before heading back home. The waterpark was all indoors and a balmy 84 degrees, though the water was a little cool for my liking, and Evan's. I had to take him out of the water and wrap him up because his lips were purple and he was shivering! We stopped at Grapevine Mills Mall to let the kids have lunch at The Rainforest Cafe, which they really loved. To see Evan jump in his seat and his eyes become the size of saucers when the gorilla families would start screaming was hilarious. And Jake Amy had the look on his face of, "No one else is panicking over the leopard checking me out on the cliff, so I guess all is good!" The Rainforest Cafe was a hit, but the children were hitting the wall and all getting tired and cranky. We once again hit traffic on the way out of Dallas, and Rick was more than overjoyed, ha-ha! Overall it was a great time, but would recommend it for a 2 night stay, then you would not feel so rushed to do everything. The kids are already wanting to know when we are going back to the Wolf place!
