We've had an adventure packed weekend from the Great Wolf Lodge, to Ariana losing her 8th tooth, to a trip to Grandma Safi's quickly expanding farm, to hiding from the thunder and lightning under the kitchen desk! Rick's mother, known to the children as Grandma Safi, is well on her way to being a bonafide farm! She was recently given 7 really beautiful and productive chickens and is caring for several neighbor's horses. She called this morning and wanted the children to come over and gather eggs out of the chicken coop. They were so excited to go over and be little farmers! Ariana jumped right in, Evan wasn't to sure and Tye Hill never took his eyes off those chickens. We came out with 7 huge, brown eggs, one was still warm from just being laid....it doesn't get much fresher than that! The chickens are producing every day and Carol is trying to figure out new ways to do eggs! The children then fed the horses, played and headed home for a much needed nap. Carol is planning on adding to the brood, by taking the children to pick out some chicks when the weather warms up a bit, and is even looking to take on 2 Arabian horses and some guineas in May....we'll keep you posted as to how the farm is progressing!
